FAQ
What waterproof rating do I need (10K vs. 15K vs. 20K),
10K is for dry climates and occasional resort days. 15K handles most conditions, including wet snow and rain, for a full season of regular riding. 20K is worth it if you're riding wet coastal snow, spending long days in the elements, or pushing into the backcountry.
Insulated or shell? Which one for my climate and layering style?
Insulated pieces build warmth into the shell, which is great if you run cold or ride in consistently freezing conditions and don't want to think about layering. A shell gives you more flexibility: layer up on the coldest days, strip back when you're working hard or the temperature climbs.
Why does thirtytwo cut everything loose/boxy instead of slim?
Loose fit is the thirtytwo default: relaxed, boxy cuts that move with you through grabs, presses, and long days riding, and layer easily without feeling restrictive. It's also just the look: rooted in park and street, not a slim, tailored fit.
Are the seams fully taped/sealed, not just water-resistant?
Yes. Pieces built with our 32 REPEL fabrication are fully seam-taped, not just DWR-coated, so water can't get in through the stitching in wet snow or rain.
What size should I get if it's already a loose fit? Is it true to size or size down?
True to size: the loose fit is already built into the pattern, so sizing down usually just makes it fit slim instead of relaxed, which isn't the intended cut. If you like an even more oversized look or plan to layer heavily underneath, size up rather than down. For unisex pieces, women can size down. Always check the size chart to confirm your fit.
